CMF Family and Friends,
We hope that you are safe and well during this unsettling time. For 40 years, CMF has raised funds through “Grand Celebrations”. We rely on these events to encourage fellowship and support our community members in need.
Sadly, the individuals who receive support from CMF funding are one of the highest risk groups for COVID-19 infection- those with compromised immune systems. This morning the CMF Board of Directors decided to act in accordance with Governor Cooper’s State of Emergency guidance and suspend events that could compromise the health and well being of our supporters, members, and the community at large. We can all make small sacrifices and do our part to slow the potential spread of COVID-19.
Effective immediately, CMF will suspend events and focus temporarily solely on alternative forms of outreach and fundraising. This impacts Drag Brunch, scheduled for March 15, and our Host Party, scheduled for April 4. We are working to reschedule our Host Party later this spring. We will refund March Drag Brunch tickets. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make a decision about April Drag Brunch closer to the date. Please know that we will continue to update you all through email, our Facebook page, and our website. We thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe and take care of each other.
Kurt Hurelbrink
President, CMF Board of Directors
