BENEFICIARIES

Crape Myrtle Festival’s court of volunteers works diligently each year to raise as much money as possible to give back to our community. Does your agency support LGBTQ+ and/or HIV related causes?

Our annual grant application process starts in September and closes mid-November with a celebration of the beneficiaries for the year. The general timetable is:

  • September 1: Annual CMF grant application released

  • October 15: Application submission deadline

  • November 1: Application awards determined and beneficiaries notified

  • Mid-November:  Harvest Tea - a celebration with CMF volunteers and grant recipients with a check presentation. The exact date of this event is promoted each year via social media, website postings, and email correspondence.

RAIN’s mission is to empower people living with HIV and those at risk to be healthy, and stigma-free. Serving the Mecklenburg County area since 1992, we have successfully addressed clients' diverse needs, offering access to medical care, medications, and emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and food. Our commitment to integrity and compassion is evident in the quality outcomes of our HIV services. Our comprehensive approach includes reducing HIV stigma through community education and advocacy. We empower clients to recognize and combat HIV stigma, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. All our services are available in person and through telehealth, offered in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for all.

At LILA (Latinx LGBTQI+), we strive to protect the rights of Latinx LGBTQI+ individuals, their families, and friends by advocating for laws and policies that ensure their safety. We also work to raise awareness and educate the broader community to combat discrimination and stigma. Our work focuses on three key areas: Health, Education, and Advocacy.
